SU:    Hi Saira, nice to meet you! Thank you for accepting the interview with Social Unseen.

SU:    What does your Instagram username Fashky mean?

SF:    It was a quick name my husband joked about when thinking of a name, as I enjoy fashion. So I decided to go with it. Its very lighthearted.

SU:    Do you fully work as a content creator?

SF:    Yes.

SU:    What is your educational background?

SF:    I Studied Business Management with a Marketing specialism.

SU:    We love how minimal and sophisticated your looks are, what is your main go-to piece ?

SF:    Thank you so much. A blazer. I have a collection of them – worn to bits, and although most look identical (oops) ok, with maybe a little tweak in cut, I genuinely get my monies worth. It’s such a versatile piece, and leading a busy lifestyle its incredibly practical too. A blazer also has many personalities, sophisticated, edgy, basic, glam, it can be anything and everything.

SU:   Who is your fashion icon?

SF:   Is it ok to admit that I don’t have 1. There are a few people collectively.

SU:    Can you name three creatives from Dubai that we need to follow? (It can be influencers, photographers, stylists..)

SF:    Do you have any recommendations?  I admire Leena Al Ghouti for being unique in her style, she’s also wonderful in person which I feel needs to be celebrated in this day and age on social media. Prod Antzoulis is an incredible photographer but also has a killer style, very 80’s retro. Samantha Francis Baker @styleisanecessity  is just the sweetest stylist and personality, but also a kick-ass boss babe!

SU:     Who inspires your daily looks?

SF:    I take a lot of inspiration from different channels. Instagram, movies, magazines, walking past someone in reality, everything around me.

SU:   Your favorite destination and why?

SF:    Thailand. It hold’s a ton of memories. But also, theres so much culture which is one of the things I yearn to experience wherever I travel.

SU:    Your favorite place in Dubai for a brunch?

SF:    I’m not a massive brunch-goer. I do however love a good breakfast spot, and my top 2 are Eggspectation, when it’s not too busy. The other, the Acai from Home Bakery, yum!

SU:   We noticed your love for Bottega Veneta and Loewe, which other minimalistic brands are you favorite?

SF:    Toteme, their love for all things simple yet beautiful speaks my language. COS. Acne. The Row.

SU:   Your Favorite Bottega Veneta bag?

SF:   Hmm! a difficult one to answer, their Pouch is iconic. The arco tote is an every day wear type of bag. Their padded cassette is a great bag too. Can I just say all?!

SU:    Any niche brands you’d like to share with us?

SF:    The Peterdo, Khaite, Ader, Christopher Esber, Low Classic, Nehera, House of Dagmar, Worn Store… The list is endless.

SU:   Your favorite perfume?

SF:    Blanche and Mojave Ghost, Byredo.

SU:    You barely wear makeup and you look beautiful this way. Any must-haves you can suggest?

SF:    Aren’t you the sweetest. I try to keep my make-up minimal, just enough to hide my reality, being tired since 2014 (my 1st child’s birth date). I’ve been a Nars customer since forever, and their tinted moisturizer delivers on every level. The lip glow from Dior is a bag necessity. And mascara, is a must – it opens up these sleepy eyes.

SU:    How about skincare, what is your everyday routine?

SF:    Skincare is important to me. It’s an important step, that I never miss. I’ve tried a multitude of products, some great, some not so much. But in short, I cleanse, tone, apply a serum, normally a Vitamin C based product, it works wonders! A moisturizer and lastly a sun screen, I barely go a day without.

SU:    We noticed you have two cute boys. How do you manage your everyday life while having a mom’s responsibility ?

SF:    I’m still a hot mess most days. It’s damn hard I’m not going to lie, but having a good support system holds the answer to your Question.

SU:    Any concept stores / vintage shops in Dubai you’d like to share with us?

SF:   Still on the search.
